  Welcome Autumn!
It's that time of year when the leaves turn bright colors and the air is crisp... wait, I must be thinking of the east coast!

Anyway, I love this time of year and wanted to welcome autumn with these two adorable French bulldogs!

  I'm in love!
I'm in love with the work of Seattle dog artist, Ken Bailey!

Ken combines his love of dogs with vintage advertising to create art that makes you smile. His whimsical art deco style paintings of Terriers, Pugs, Labrador Retrievers, Boston Terriers, just to name a few, are depicted with items such as candy, juice, tea and chocolate bars. Below is one of my favorites, "Naturally Sweet Pug Orange Juice."

Recently, I purchased a collection of Ken's limited edition prints, which I will frame as a series and hang on one of the walls in my new dog portrait studio. You can purchase prints as posters or on canvas through the Ken Bailey Studio. If you're a dog or cat lover, you will delight in Ken's work!

Ken also has a blog that you can visit for news and updates about his work and products.

Side note: Upon purchasing the prints, I invited Ken to view my dog work and he wrote me the kindest note, which, coming from such a world-reknown artist such as he, I was completely humbled by his words, below:

"I did go to your site and the most eloquent thing I can say is "Wow" Photography rarely impacts me and I don't look at much wedding photography, but you do something special. I was impressed. Your work is fun and energetic. You get the artistic use of space and movement - really rare. Your work makes me smile."

Ken, your work makes me smile! Thanks for sharing your art with us.

  Polo is a "Star"!
Meet Polo!

This little charmer just celebrated his 2nd birthday and is the fur baby of photographer Jasmine Star and her husband, JD. The trio flew from Orange County to San Francisco for the day and helped me with a special project that I'm working on for WPPI.

Thanks, guys, for taking time out of your busy schedules to spend a little time in San Francisco!

  Bogie's Fan Club
My pug, Bogie, is 14-years-old and quite a celebrity in the world of photography. His face has graced the pages of numerous magazines, including Rangefinder, and he's even starred in a Gene Higa promo video.

Bogie has quite the fan base, too. It's a pretty regular occurrence here at our studio for Bogie to receive fan mail. He even gets packages. One came all the way from our clients in Jamaica. Just ask our UPS delivery guy.

I thought I'd post some of Bogie's fan mail... postcards, love notes, treats... that we've received recently from folks who just love Bogie. Thanks to those special people (and you know who you are) who are so good to my little pug!

Here's a recent portrait of Bogie:

And now, the goodies...

  Stanley
Meet Stanley the pug! I just fell in love with his many expressions. Stanley is the "baby" of my clients Holly and Greg who are getting married later this month in San Francisco. He kinda of resembles Bogie in his younger days, don't you think?

  Cheeko B Pet Boutique Opens!
My pug Bogie has a new place to shop!

Owners Kattya and Patrick, along with their adorable Chiuahuhua's Cheeko (whom the store is named after) and Frankie, have opened Cheeko B, San Francisco's newest, swankiest pet boutique serving dog and cat owners in Union Square, Nob Hill and SOMA.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Cheeko B!

(Please pardon the point and shoot quality images. Also, more news and images of Cheeko B to come, so stay tuned!)

The dog behind the brand: Cheeko...

And his sweet little sidekick, Frankie...

Patrick and Kattya have created a warm and inviting atmosphere for pets and their owners.

Cheeko B offers a wide assortment of stylish collars, leashes, doggie wigs, clothing, toys, treats and beds for the most discerning dogs (and cats, too!).

Kattya was so kind to give Bogie a gift... a stroller! This is one of the most thoughtful gifts. Bogie doesn't walk well and his new stroller allows him to still get around town in style. He just loves it!

Gene found a new friend... this is Houdini the French Bulldog.

And... not too long ago Cheeko and Frankie came in to my studio for their portrait!

  Oh, Bella!
Since I first laid eyes on her, I have been wanting to get Bella, a gorgeous Shiba Inu puppy, into my studio for the longest time! She is the brand new "baby" of my good friend, Duncan Reyes, San Francisco wedding planner extraordinaire and owner of f. duncan reyes events by design.

Well, I finally got my wish! Without further ado, may I present to you Miss Bella....

Ducan and Bella...
