I haven't blogged a wedding in a while, so I wanted to share the wedding of Lori and Robert, who were married last September. I just love this couple. From the moment we met at my studio, I knew I had to work with them. Lori has such exquisite taste and great attention to detail, so I knew her wedding would be nothing short of amazing. The couple are also great dog lovers and, as such, asked me to photograph Morgen their sweet little Dachshund, who sadly had passed away recently.
The amazing vendors:
Ceremony: Thomas Fogarty Winery & Vineyards
Ceremony Music: John Chapman, Guitarist
Reception: Hotel Montgomery, San Jose
Flowers: Paige Benjamin, Passiflora Designs
Cake: Flours
Wedding Dress: Amy Kushel
Bride's Jewelry + Hair Accessory: Lindsie Jones, Haute Bride
Videographer: Pete Malone, First Floor Films
Last, but not least, my studio partner, Gene Higa, who also adores Lori and Robert, was gracious to join me for the early part of the day before heading off to another shoot that afternoon.
I received this very kind note from Lori after the wedding and wanted to share:
"It's rare for me to be speechless. You are more extraordinary than I thought."

Gene grabbed this priceless shot of Robert as he caught his first glimpse of Lori...

Another shot by Gene. Love this!

There's a funny story here. During the ceremony, Lori made reference to words that Gene had shared on his blog about living in the moment and making the most of it. She gave credit to him publicly and totally caught him off guard. I caught this shot of Gene blushing...
I thought I'd share that when Gene made those comments on his blog, he was inspired by the words of Buddha:
Meditate. Live purely. Be quiet. Do your work with mastery. Like the moon, come out from behind the clouds. Shine.
The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly. |

This is what I have to put up with when I agree to letting Gene come along to my weddings... sigh... :)

I love playing with textures...
