His name is Luke and he is just TOO CUTE for words!
He is the beautiful baby boy of our clients, Matika and Mike. I had the pleasure of photographing their amazing wedding in Thailand in December 2006 with my studio partner, Gene, and now their baby's first official portrait.
Matika is also an incredibly talented floral designer and owner of Simply Blooms. I have known and worked with Matika for many years and love her professionalism and fine attention to detail. Please be sure to check out her work!

Since I first laid eyes on her, I have been wanting to get Bella, a gorgeous Shiba Inu puppy, into my studio for the longest time! She is the brand new "baby" of my good friend, Duncan Reyes, San Francisco wedding planner extraordinaire and owner of f. duncan reyes events by design.
Well, I finally got my wish! Without further ado, may I present to you Miss Bella....

This adorable Boston Terrier is Reilly, a 4-year-old bundle of energy who came to the studio to have his portrait taken. We managed to get Reilly to sit still long enough to grab these shots. Also, I learned that today is Reilly's birthday, so what a perfect day to blog about this little guy.
Happy Birthday, Reilly!

| Courtney and Myrran are getting married in July at beautiful Healdsburg Country Gardens. We recently did their engagement session at Ghirardelli Square and Baker Beach. The couple were engaged at Ghirardelli so it was important to them to get a few shots there before heading over to the beach. We had gorgeous weather and a great time, and I can't wait for their wedding! |

This is a first for me! Here's Fred, a 4-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier, with his pet, Mimi the cat. Yes, Fred brought his pet cat to his portrait session!
|

| I saved the best one for last. Fred doesn't like it when anyone tries to take his cat away from him! |

| Bark + Whine Ball Tonight! |
|
 |
For all your dog lovers out there, I wanted to share that tonight is the 2008 Bark & Whine Ball!
The event, sponsored by the San Francisco SPCA, is being held at the San Francisco Gift Center Pavilion (888 Brannan Street) at 7 p.m. Admission is $150 and all proceeds are benefiting a great cause --- The SFSPCA Cinderella Fund, which transforms the lives of the neediest animals that arrive at the shelter -- those who are not only homeless, but are sick or injured as well. Thanks to this wonderful fund, these animals and hundreds more who need that extra measure of care can receive treatment from the skilled medical staff at the SFSPCA. Once restored to health, these special pets can be placed in the loving homes they so richly deserve. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Cinderella Fund.
I'm honored to be part of this great event and have donated a portrait session to the Bark & Whine Ball's Silent Auction.

| Featured on Dog Art Today! |
|
 |
I'm happy to share that my dog work is featured on Dog Art Today! In the spotlight is Tiny, a small dog with a big attitude!
I had stumbled upon creator Moira McLaughlin's website a few months ago and find myself going back almost every day! If you love dogs and art as much as I do, then this website is sure to make you smile. It's a wonderful daily dose of dog art from around the world!
Moira writes: "Upon seeing Hamilton's work, I'm inspired again. Looking at the different faces of Tiny, I see that it is possible for someone with great talent and a keen eye to perceive the 'idiosyncratic chaos' that is a dog and capture it on film."

| This past Sunday the weather was absolutely gorgeous here in San Francisco! And last night it was the perfect night to head over to Baker Beach to take a few long exposures. Isn't this a pretty shot of the Golden Gate Bridge? This is one of the many reasons why I *heart* San Francisco! |
